Welcome to the Database of Island Invasive Species Eradications (DIISE) - a centralized database covering all of the recorded INVASIVE vertebrate eradications on islands and an important tool in helping improve the quality of eradications.

Found only on the Juan Fernandez Islands, Chile, the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) Critically Endangered (CR) Juan Fernandez Firecrown (Sephanoides fernandensis) is threatened by invasive rats, feral cats, coatis, and herbivorous mammals (especially invasive rabbits). Removing these invasive vertebrates is critical to the recovery of this highly threatened species on the brink of extinction.
